Keepin' Busy

We apologize for the lack of communication lately. We've actually been really busy "working" although not in the typical sense. We're kept very busy. So much so that work and life have now become synonyms.
Let's go back to the last week of February. I went on a 3 day house trip to see the whales. It was the best trip I've had yet. We left Thursday and came back Saturday. We saw some whales (no jumps or tricks), spent the afternoon on a postcard perfect beach, and visited our favourite swimming hole, Lagoona DuDu on our way back. I just need to pause and talk about this island we went to. You know those travel brochures you see but you think, "can a place really be this beautiful?". Well, up till now, I didn't think so. But, let me assure you that the water really is that green and the sand that white. Let's continue.

Playa Rincon (another beautiful secluded beach with a fresh water river flowing into the ocean)

The closest picture I could get of a whale.

Lagoona DuDu (really, that's it's name)

After getting home on Saturday I began 2 days of first aid training on Monday. Terry left for his house trip on Thursday.

Bowling on the beach.

My boss seemed to think that this would be an ideal time for me to work an evening supervision shift as Terry was gone. So, after working 24 hours on Friday, I had Saturday off. The following Tuesday began a week of retreat. We had already experienced a retreat week in October. We play games, have skits and a talent show and chapel in the evening. I think I enjoyed this one better than the last because I knew the kids better. It would have been even better if our team hadn't lost. But it's not all about winning right?
During these past two weeks we had friends from our bible study back home vacationing in Cabarete. So, we requested Monday off to go visit them. We left Sunday after church and came back Tuesday evening. Only this time it was different, we tempted fate and took our motorcycle to the coast. Jill, the packmule, was loaded up with a backpack and off we went. Most of the driving was on winding mountain roads but there were a few stretches of open highway. Terry made me pray before and after each section. At any given time a car could pull into your lane, either from the right or left. But, other than a sore butt, it was a lot of fun and we got to see some amazing scenery.
While at the beach Terry bought a used surf board that he's going to share with a friend. Just one more opportunity to aquire new experiences and new scars.
We had a nice, relaxing time with our friends, Eric and Karmen-Neta, and were actually refreshed to begin a new week of work.
What next?

Who is that on the bike? I didn't know Terry was hooking up with some lady named Louise from Arkansa. She has nice jeans and biceps. Is she hiding her bottle of Presidente in her front pocket?

Go ahead and mock, "anonymous", it doesn't change the fact that we live on a beautiful tropical island and you live in Steinbach.
