Villa Pajon
A few weeks ago Terry and I with the girls drove about 3 hours further into the mountains to stay at a remote cabin for the weekend. We thought it would be cute and rustic. It definitely was. Luckily we had borrowed Bob and Carrie's truck to get us there, otherwise we would have been stuck on a very narrow road with nowhere to go. The drive was beautiful but as we've come to expect in this country, nothing is easy.
We drove through Constanza and left civilization as we know it, behind. Another hour and a half later brought us to what some might call a trail or path in the mountains but what we call a road here. At one point Hazel started crying in the back seat and said that she didn't want any more bumps. I had to hold on to a handle above my door with my right hand and reach back with my left hand to hold Luna's head still in her car seat. Luckily that part was the shortest.
From the cabin we had a breath-taking view of the mountain ranges, especially in the morning when the clouds sat in between the mountains.
It was also unbelievably cold. I know, most of you don't feel sorry for us, but it was. It rained most afternoons and evenings and our only warmth was a fireplace that didn't do much to heat the unsealed cabin. But it was fun for a change to crawl into bed with flannel pajamas and socks on. Unfortunately the girls didn't like the cold too much and we spent a good portion of our night trying to get them back to sleep until we finally gave up and just threw them in bed with us.
We had lots of fun but were thankful to come back "down" to our mountain where it was a little warmer.
